By default, the connector is not set up to send emails when shipment records are created. This functionality must be explicitly requested (contact Celigo support). In addition to making this request, a change also needs to be made in Magento. Following is a summary of the issue and what needs to changed once Celigo has enabled the send email option for your connector. By default, the Magento API does not support the ability to trigger shipment emails that contain tracking info. Their API call to create a shipment record is separate from their call to add tracking info and the secondary call to add tracking does not have the option to send an email. To work around this, the Celigo connector instead adds a comment to the shipment record after it has been created (and after all the add tracking number calls have executed). Adding a comment triggers a send email action if ‘Shipment Comments’ is enabled, and by swapping the ‘Shipment Comments’ email template with the standard ‘Shipment’ email template in Magento, it would be possible to send a shipment email with tracking numbers. The ‘Shipment’ and ‘Shipment Comments’ email configurations are located at System->Configuration->Sales->Sales Emails. NOTE: Since the ‘Shipment Comments’ email is used, the ‘Shipment’ email option should be disabled. Otherwise, two shipment emails will be sent.
