Problem:
The Salesforce Opportunity ‘Description’ field can be up to 32,000 characters, but Celigo reports a NetSuite error if it is over a certain size. The field in the NetSuite opportunity is called Details. What do we need to do regarding the fields so that we can match or edit the Celigo process to automatically truncate the data?
Solution:
If the field capacity within Salesforce exceeds the one in NetSuite, then you can simply map it to a different custom free-form text field in NetSuite that will accept more characters. There is no direct way to truncate the data without involving additional scripting. For assistance with mapping a new field, please see the article, Online Field Mapping Tool for Salesforce - NetSuite Connector.
In this circumstance, it is mapped to a Standard Memo field in NetSuite, which can hold a maximum of 4,000 characters. Standard fields in NetSuite cannot be customized. You can use a Long Text field in NetSuite to accommodate the size of the field in Salesforce.
