Opportunity Sync — Generating an Order
A Sales Order can be created from an Opportunity, a Quote, or an Opportunity containing a Quote.
To generate an order, go to the specific quote custom object, and click the Sales Order button. The following occurs when you click this button:
- The quote is sent to NetSuite and converted to a sales order.
- All attachments are transferred to NetSuite and stored on the sales order in the Files sublist.
- The NetSuite sales order is sent back to Salesforce and stored in the native Salesforce Order object. It is displayed in a related list on the Opportunity page.
- The status of the Opportunity in Salesforce changes to Closed Won.
The Sales Order object in Salesforce contains high level information about your NetSuite transaction. This information is kept up to date in real time as transactions in NetSuite are modified or statuses are changed.
The Configuration settings section has an option to allow updates to "Approved sales orders". The option is present in the Opportunity sync settings section.
If you need to update the order in NetSuite with new information from the opportunity, repeat the steps printed above. Please note that you can only update a sales order in NetSuite if the status is Pending Approval. There is an option in the Configuration settings to allow updates to "Approved sales orders". It is present in the Opportunity sync settings section.
