Sync Salesforce contacts to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central contacts (add or update)

The Salesforce contact to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central contact add/updateflow is a real-time flow that syncs Salesforce contacts as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central contacts provided that the associated account is already synced as a Customer to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Once the contact is synced, any subsequent updates in Salesforce are automatically synced to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This flow triggers automatically when you update an existing contact or create a contact for an account.

Understand the flow

In the Salesforce contact to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central contact add/updateflow, the Get contacts from Salesforce export gets the contacts from Salesforce. The Lookup contact from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central flow step looks for the contacts in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with Salesforce contact ID:

  • When a new contact is created in Salesforce, the flow checks whether the contact already exists in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and whether the contact is associated with a Salesforce account that has already been synced to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

  • Suppose the Salesforce contact doesn't exist but is associated with a synced Salesforce account. In that case, the flow creates a contact in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It syncs the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central contact's Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ID to the corresponding Salesforce contact.

  • When a contact is updated in Salesforce, the flow updates the corresponding contact in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

  • If there are any errors while synching, they will be displayed on the dashboard.

The Post contact to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central import syncs the contacts to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The Write Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ID back to Salesforce contact flow step writes the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ID back to the Salesforce contact
