Introducing Support for APIM v4 Definition
You can now choose the API definition version when pushing APIs to API Management (APIM). Select either V2 or V4 (recommended). The V4 definition enables additional features including:
-
OpenAPI Specification (OAS) validation policy
-
mTLS plan configuration, and more
For existing APIs, when adding a new endpoint, the Select Existing API dropdown shows a V2 / V4 label next to each API - making it easy to recognize which definition each API uses.
Enhanced Metadata: Field-Level Descriptions in API Builder
You can now add field-level descriptions (for path params, query params, headers, request body and response body) in API Builder. These enrich your API metadata and make your APIs more discoverable and comprehensible to both developers and AI agents. The descriptions are included in the generated OpenAPI spec, improving documentation quality and interoperability across your ecosystem.
On-prem agent support in API builder
You can now connect to on-premise databases and applications securely – right from API builder – using on-prem agents. Build APIs that integrate with systems hosted behind firewalls or within private networks, without exposing them to the public internet, while maintaining full control of data access and network security. This feature makes it easier than ever to unlock data and services from legacy or secured systems and expose them through APIs.
Clone APIs to simplify versioning and migration between environments
Cloning APIs created with API builder simplifies the use of APIs across environments, letting you manage your API lifecycle with more efficient versioning strategies.
You can:
-
Create additional versions within the same environment: Quickly generate a new version of an existing API while keeping older versions active. This feature enables parallel versioning, making it easier to introduce updates without disruption.
-
Migrate APIs across environments: Move an API from one environment to another while preserving its full configuration. You no longer have to replicate the setup, which reduces the chance of errors and ensures consistency.
It’s now easier to maintain clean version histories, accelerate deployment cycles, and enforce environment-specific governance without unnecessary overhead.
New UI for API Builder
We’ve updated the API Builder UI! Following the launch of the new Flow builder UI we’ve revamped the API Builder to give you a more streamlined, intuitive experience. Now you can build APIs faster and more efficiently with a cleaner layout and powerful new features, including:
-
Redesigned Interface: A sleek, modern look makes navigation smoother and more intuitive.
-
Improved Menu: Quickly access tools and actions with a simplified, organized layout.
-
Refined Icons: Enjoy a consistent, polished design that reduces clutter and improves clarity.
Switch between the new and old interfaces whenever you need - your work stays intact. With these updates, building APIs is faster and more enjoyable than ever. Dive in today and see how these changes enhance your workflow!
Introduced in mid-March, Celigo API Builder is a powerful, low-code tool for creating APIs in integrator․io. Celigo API Builder brings the intuitive Flow Builder experience to API development, making it easy to build backend composite services as an alternative to writing scripts. Once created, APIs can be exposed directly in integrator․io or pushed to Celigo API Management to better secure, socialize, and monitor your APIs. This provides a seamless way to develop and manage APIs with greater control and efficiency.
The API Builder is now available in Celigo API Management and integrator.io Professional and Enterprise editions. It will also be available to all other plans during a special preview period through April.
We’re excited to introduce Celigo API Builder, a powerful new tool to create APIs through a visual, low-code experience in integrator.io. With API Builder, you can build backend composite services effortlessly - bringing the intuitive Flow Builder experience to API development. The API Builder is planned to be available in Celigo API Management and Professional and Enterprise editions later in March. It will also be available to all other plans during a special preview period through April.
Read more about it in the Platform release notes.
This release introduces multiple environments for API Management. This enhancement works in conjunction with the multiple environment feature being introduced to the core platform and allows for API provisioning across both production and non-production environments, ensuring synchronized updates for seamless operations. With built-in capabilities for API token generation and role-based access control, this feature streamlines API lifecycle management while maintaining robust compliance and security standards.
