Need workflow to be delayed by X time from Shopify to Netsuite

Hi All,

I am trying to delay my orders coming from Shopify to Netsuite by 10 minutes.

So I am using the scheduled time workflow. Which runs every 15mins 7 days a week.

Setting - I selected "last updated time" and "10" for "Lag for next run flow".

However, I still have some orders flowing into NetSuite without the 10-minute delay. Example: An order flown into Shopify at 4:33 pm then at 4:38 pm into Netsuite

Please advise if this is the correct setting to tinker with in order for a 10 min delay from Shopify to Netsuite?

  • Hi Stanley,

Please use the setting "Sync orders created prior to" and set the value 10 here along with "last updated time". This should address the use case.

  • So the field 'Lag for next run flow' should be blank?

Can you help me understand what those two fields mean exactly? There seems to be some misunderstanding what they do?

  • Hi Stanley,

You can leave the Lag for the next flow run as blank. In this scenario new order syncing will be delayed by 10 minutes as per the setting Sync orders created prior to set as 10.

Please note, if there is any order edit on the existing order in last 10 minute, then it will be picked by the flow as you have set the first criteria Filter order by Last updated time.
For details of the functionality I would suggest to check the helptext mentioned in the setting (Sharing screenshot for reference). There we have explained with example on what exactly is being done.

The changes made here will be reflected in flow "Shopify order to NetSuite order (cash sale or sales order)"  under the bubble "Get orders from Shopify" > Relative URI.

    Hope this helps.

  • I have inputted the 10 within "sync orders created prior to".

The lag didn't make sense. The order came into Shopify at "12:35 pm EST" and with no edits on the order. It was imported to NetSuite at "1:52 pm EST". Shouldn't it just be 10 mins?

  • Hi Stanley
The order was supposed to be picked up at 12:50 PM according to the scheduled time, and setting "sync orders created prior to" updated as 10. The only reason I can think of is that the previous flow may still be running, causing this order to wait in the queue to be processed. The exact reason can be determined by debugging the flow. For this, I would request that you raise a support ticket.

I apologize for the delay in response, as I was on extended leave.
