Re-Use Destination/Import

Does anyone know how to re-use a destination/import that has already been created and setup in another branch of a flow?  I see where the imports are stored under resources, but I can't figure out how to use one that already exists.

  • Hi Michael,

You can reuse an import step that you have already created by checking "use existing import" box when you go to add that import and after you have selected your application and connection.  This will then give you a list of already created steps that use that same connection.  Note that when you do this any edits you make on this flow step will affect the other flow as well since you are selecting that resource (in this case an import).  You can use this for exports as well.

Another alterative is to completely clone the original flow and use that as a starting point to then edit and make changes as you need.  Hope that helps

  • I have that option when creating an export, but not when creating an import.

  • Michael Gantt does that SafetyCulture connection have existing imports? It will only show you existing imports that utilize that connection.

    You can check via this:

  • Michael Gantt definitely not ideal. We're checking internally to see if we need to log a bug. In the meantime, you could utilize this chrome extension that a partner of ours built out and then force the existing import onto the flow. Here is a quick video on how to do it: https://app.screencast.com/9fIiAVmox8N8e.

  • I think I figured it out.  If all of the imports have already been pulled into the flow, the checkbox doesn't appear because there are no other imports available to select.  I was expecting to see one that was already in use in the current flow.  Once I deleted it, the checkbox came back.  Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the assistance!
