NetSuite saved search character limitations
This is one of the oddest bugs I have come across. Apparently, Celigo does not display saved searches when their first character is an upper or lower case “z”.
You can see below the search does not come up (this is after refreshing the list):

Change the name to e.g., “Yoho”:

My suspicion is that the searches are being pulled by Celigo but there is some UI bug that prevents them from populating in the dropdown.

I did a little more testing with some ASCII and Unicode characters. Other letters and numbers seem fine. ASCII punctuation is hit or miss:
"()'*/
all work;,<>.{}[]:
do not. Other Unicode characters and emojis do not work at all. NetSuite allows all of these characters in the title of a saved search.Just for clarity: None of these characters prevent a search from showing up when they appear in the title, only when they are the first character:
Hi Ezriah,
I checked this in our test accounts and did not encounter the issue. I was able to see searches starting with 'Z' or special characters like ',' without any problems.
Although I can think of a couple of possible reasons for a saved search not appearing in the results—(1) the saved search is not marked as public in NetSuite, or (2) there are more than 1000 saved searches in NetSuite, causing this one to not appear in the initial list—this issue doesn't seem to be related to either of these.
For further analysis, could you please create a support case with our team so we can look at this?
Hi Praveen Kumar Reddy Basani ,
Thanks for following up. I submitted a support ticket and will let you know the outcome.
Ezriah you should be able to just put the search id if you toggle to private. So if you're blocked, that would work. If you're looking to report as a bug, then support ticket is the way to go so it can be fixed in the future.

Thanks for following up on this. Just to keep you informed, I did file a support ticket. They confirmed that this can occur in NetSuite accounts with over 1000 saved searches, and said they are investigating the bug.
For now, the private search is a good workaround. In our case, since it seems to be just these specific characters, I am also just avoiding using them in the beginning of the saved search titles.
