export with different file specific qualifications modifies the same export

If I have an existing export ( say netsuite purchase orders ) and I have specific field qualification criteria for that export.  I then create a new export ( netsuite purchase orders ) over the same connection but different field qualification criteria ( b/c this export even though it's from same connection will end up at a different location ) it says export created successfully but just modifies the previous export connection with the new criteria.

    Hi Morgan Health,

If you're seeing the behavior as described, that would be a bug. Could you please file a Support ticket with more details so we can check this out? I would suggest recording a short video to show the issue in this case.

The way it should work, of course, is just as you imagine it -- that creating a new export on a connection that you've used in an any number of earlier exports should not affect other exports in any way.

  • Hi Dennis Craig,

I just created a ticket for you - 62429. It's super fast from our Zendesk tool, we just select Create ticket :), and you'll be updated. Please add any other relevant information so that our support agent can help you more quickly. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

  • Hey Everyone,

This might also be some confusion similar to what I had early on in my IO days.  If you create a new export, same connection and select "Use and Existing Export" that actually becomes a pointer to the existing export. It's not a new instance.  So, you can have the same instance of an export running in more than one flow and when you make changes to the export they impact all flows.

I've used this to my advantage a few times but it also confused the heck out of me at first.

If you want a new instance of an existing object, you need to clone.

    Hope this helps.
