Wildcard Characters in FTP Export File name

Hello,

I need to import multiple files from an FTP site into a database table.  The problem is the files all start and end with something different, but have a common word in the middle of the file name.  Is it possible in the FTP Source to add wildcard characters to the file name?  Using the something an * like below did not work. Wondering if there is another way to pickup all the files I need without doing each one individually.

Thanks

Ty

  • Hi Kathyana, were you able to find any info on my above question?  I've tried looking through the handlebars, but haven't found one that I've been able to use that will help.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Tyrella Ferrill

At present, wildcard characters are not supported in file name field. We are tracking this enhancement request closely and keep you updated on the progress. In the meantime, here is a workaround that might help you

    1. If you wish to transfer all the files in the folder to the database table, you can leave the field empty.
    2. If you wish to only transfer a subset of files depending on the file name, then I would recommend you create a single flow that routes the files to different folder depending on the file name, For example, have one flow to grab all files, don't parse them, check the filename metadata tag, then transfer the files to other folders based on the name.

Here is the link which will guide you on how to get the filename - FTP exports, Please feel free to let us know if you are having any questions.

    Thank you,
