Flow Branching - Feedback/Requests

Trying this out - creating a post around a new feature to collect my own feedback and also prompt other users to provide feedback. Celigo: If you don't want this kind of content in the community, let me know.

I haven't -actually- used the branching yet, but I have had to deal with the flow panel changes and I'll start my feedback there:

  1. Can't re-order bubbles - well, maybe you can but I can't figure it out
  2. The "navigator" thing in the right corner isn't very useful. If we could click and drag the active area around, then maybe it'd be useful, but as-is I don't see much value. Maybe if you had a MASSIVE flow it would be helpful, but for now it's just eating up valuable space, IMO. Or maybe let us draw a zoom region there?
  3. I love that I can pan around and modify the flow view!
  4. Zooming with mouse wheel is broken (for me). Inconsistent behavior and far too sensitive. One increment on my wheel makes zooms like 300% or something, it's nuts. I know using mouse wheel input can be tricky, so maybe you can add a backup method to control interactive zoom: CTRL+click and drag (or something that modifies mouse movement into zoom values)
  5. Can we have a keyboard shortcut to zoom to extents?

  • Thank you so much for sending these, Steve Klett! Yes, please continue to do this - think out of the box on what we can do to improve your experience both in integrator.io and in the help center/community. We love having you as a UX partner and very much appreciate your time and great insights! I've added your enhancements to our backlog for prioritization. Have a wonderful weekend!

  • Hi again, Steve Klett,

Can you clarify what you mean by "extents" - do you mean back out to 100% and whatever the smallest pan out percentage is?

  • Hey Courtney,

Sure, I'm talking about this guy:

  • Hi Steve Klett,

Thanks for clarifying! Re: mouse scrolling - this doesn't solve the sensitivity issue, but one of our support managers said that ctrl+mouse wheel scroll down takes it to the very smallest value, ctrl+scroll up to the very largest one, if you weren't aware of that.

  • Hi Courtney Jordan,

I'm a bit confused. For me, mouse wheel by itself vertical scrolls which is probably just native browser/windows behavior. If I CTRL+mouse wheel I get the expected zoom behavior, however the magnitude of the changes for each increment of the mouse wheel is far too great.

Here's a quick screen cap video of me single increment scrolling down, then resetting and single increment scrolling up. As you can see the changes are severe.

  • Hi Steve Klett,

Thanks so much for sharing this - I've added this video to the request and will work to get it prioritized.

  • Adding to this thread.

I just learned that we can't have multiple levels of branching. What I mean is, we can't branch at level 1 into
"branch A" and "branch B", then in say "branch B", branch again into "C" and "D".

    Something like this:

I can still achieve my use case with 3 branches on the first node, but it would be cleaner if we have multiple levels of branching or "sub branching" - whatever you want to call it.

  • Multiple levels of branching is def supported, but what is not currently supported in the picture you have above is the entry point for a branch must be a step. We do not support having a router as the first thing in the branch, but you can of course add a router after a step within a branch, and then only records that go to that step would then go to the next level router, etc...
