Set up a connection to Tekla

Tekla is a powerful software suite for building information modeling (BIM) and structural engineering, widely used in the construction industry to design, detail, and manage complex structures.

Set up a connection

After you start the connection, configure it in the Create connection panel and complete all of the required * authentication settings:

Setting

Instructions

Name your connection *

Enter a clear and distinguishable name. Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection. A unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting it from a list of the connections in your account.

API type *

Choose your Tekla API type:

  • Trimble Connect API: Integrate, manage, and share construction and design project data seamlessly

Environment *

Select your Tekla account environment (either Prod or Stage).

Region *

Select your Tekla account region:

  • US Master: if your account URL is https://app.connect.trimble.com/tc/api/2.0

  • EU: if your account URL is https://app21.connect.trimble.com/tc/api/2.0

  • AP: if your account URL is https://app31.connect.trimble.com/tc/api/2.0

  • AP2: if your account URL is https://app32.connect.trimble.com/tc/api/2.0

  • Stage US: if your account URL is https://app.stage.connect.trimble.com/tc/api/2.0

  • Stage AP: if your account URL is https://app31.stage.connect.trimble.com/tc/api/2.0

Token *

Enter your Tekla API token.

Multiple layers of protection, including AES 256 encryption, are in place to keep your token safe. When editing this connection, you must re-enter this value each time; it is stored only when the connection is saved and never displayed as text.

Tip

This connector documentation describes only the settings shown for the Simple view. For the corresponding HTTP settings, see token auth universal connector documentation.
