Set up a connection to Miro

Miro is a collaborative online whiteboard platform that enables teams to brainstorm, plan, and visualize ideas in real-time.

Set up a connection

After you start the connection, configure it in the Create connection panel and complete all of the required * authentication settings:

Name your connection * 

Enter a clear and distinguishable name.

Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection. A unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting it from a list of the connections in your account.

API type * 

Choose your Miro account API type:

  • REST: Get board, widgets, and integration details.

  • SCIM: Get company user and team details

OAuth 2.0 client * (if API type is REST)

Select the OAuth 2.0 client that stores the client ID and client secret provided to you by Miro.

To add an OAuth 2.0 client and configure your credentials, click the plus (+) button. Click the edit ( pencil.svg ) button to modify a selected OAuth 2.0 client. For more information, see Create an OAuth 2.0 iClient resource.

API token * (if API type is SCIM)

Enter your Miro API token.

Multiple layers of protection, including AES 256 encryption, are in place to keep your API token safe. When editing this connection, you must re-enter this value each time; it is stored only when the connection is saved and never displayed as text.

How to retrieve the client ID and client secret

  1. Sign in to your Miro admin console.

  2. Navigate to ProfileSettings > Your apps.

  3. Click + Create new app.

  4. Enter an App name.

  5. Select Developer team.

  6. Click Create app. For detailed information, see Client credentials.

  7. Copy the Client ID.

  8. Copy the Client secret.

How to retrieve the API token

  1. Sign in to your Miro admin console.

  2. Navigate to SettingsEnterprise integrations.

  3. Enable SSO/SAML.

  4. Enable SCIM provisioning.

  5. Copy the API token.

Save and authorize

  1. Click Save and authorize to commit your changes and proceed to sign in with Miro.

  2. After signing in, review the permissions for the integration and click Accept.
