Set up a connection to Microsoft SharePoint

Microsoft SharePoint is a cloud-based platform that makes organizations share and collaborate on documents, tasks, and other information.

Prerequisite

Your Microsoft tenant admin (an Azure AD / Entra ID admin) should register and grant the required delegated permissions, Files.ReadWrite.All and Sites.ReadWrite.All to Celigo SharePoint Integrator. Microsoft classifies Files.ReadWrite.All and Sites.ReadWrite.All as admin-consent-only scopes. For admin consent:

  1. In Entra admin center, select Enterprise applicationsCeligo SharePoint IntegratorPermissions.

  2. Click Grant admin consent.

After your admin grants consent, non-admin users with sufficient individual privileges in SharePoint can set up and authorize a Celigo Microsoft SharePoint connection.

Tip

Even after the admin grants consent, if you still see a “Need admin approval” message, the issue may be due to Microsoft Entra ID tenant settings, such as restricted user consent or conditional access policies. To resolve the issue, your admin should review:

  • Entra IDEnterprise applicationsConsent and permissions settings

  • Entra IDSign-in logs for blocked authentication attempts

Note

You may not be able to authorize the connection if you lack sufficient individual privileges, even if your administrator grants consent to Celigo SharePoint Integrator for the delegated permissions. Administrator consent only ensures that the scopes are available for the access token; it does not grant Celigo SharePoint Integrator or you any additional backend access beyond your existing permissions.
