Set up a connection to Microsoft Entra ID

Microsoft Entra ID is an identity and access management platform that helps organizations secure and manage identities for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Set up a connection

After you start the connection, configure it in the Create connection panel and complete all of the required * authentication settings:

Setting Instructions
Name your connection * Enter a clear and distinguishable name.
Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection. A unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting it from a list of the connections in your account.
Scopes *

Scopes are OAuth 2.0 permissions that Microsoft Entra ID defines to limit access to your account.

Important: Some sensitive properties and fields can't be updated unless you use a role that has elevated permissions. If your connection doesn't have sufficient privileges, you will receive the following error:

Error code: Authorization_RequestDenied
Message: Insufficient privileges to complete the operation

To resolve the error, add one of the following privileges to the Microsoft Entra ID profile:

  • Global administrator (maximum permissions)
  • Privileged authentication administrator
  • Authentication administrator (minimum permissions)

  1. Click Scope.
  2. To access all of the scopes in the API, click the » button.
        – or –
    Check the scopes you want to add and click the > button.
  3. Click Save.
  1. Click Save and authorize to commit your changes and proceed to sign in with Microsoft Entra ID.
  2. After signing in, review the permissions for the integration and click Accept.
