An EDI trading partner is the organization you exchange EDI documents with, along with the connection details and document formats needed for that exchange. Most EDI solutions offer prebuilt trading partner connections, but connecting them to your ERP usually requires extra tools or vendors. Celigo removes that extra step by letting you configure and manage EDI trading partner connections directly within integrator.io. This article covers how to set one upa trading partner connection.
Set up a trading partner connection
After you start the connection either from the Resources menu or when creating a flow. configure it in the Create connection panel and complete all of the required* authentication settings:
- Select the appropriate connection in the EDI trading partners list.

In the Create connection panel, select the Protocol type based on the connection protocol you want to use to communicate with your trading partner, AS2, FTP, or S3. After you've selected your options in the following steps, subsequent configurations are based on the protocol you select.

Note
If you're creating a connection from within a flow step, the protocol you selected in your flow step is automatically selected for your connection as well, since your connection is a part of the step. You cannot edit the protocol selection in your connection.
- In Region, if options exist, select the business region in which you or your trading partner operates. Based on the region, the form automatically selects the EDI standard in the field, File type as EDI X12 or EDIFACT. The EDI standard for North America (NA) or Canada is EDI X12, and for the European Union (EU) is EDIFACT. The standard is leveraged to configure the EDI profiles and file definitions in flow steps.
- In Registered integrations, select integrations that you would like to associate the connection with if you're not creating it from within a flow.
