Braintree documentation: API Guide, Authentication
Note: This connector does not include preconfigured request formats. When using a Braintree connection for an export or an import, you must manually build the HTTP request body using the request formats as documented in their API Guide.
1. Set up a Braintree connection
Start establishing a connection to Braintree in either of the following ways:
- From the Resources menu, select Connections. Then, click + Create connection at the top right.
– or – - While working in a new or existing integration, you can add an application to a flow by clicking a source or destination. In the resulting Application list, select Braintree. Then, click the plus sign (+) to the right of Connection to edit the settings.

2. Provide required Braintree settings
The Connection dialog then asks you to name the new connection and supply standard authentication details.

Name (required): Provide a clear and distinguishable Name as soon as the connection is created. Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection, and a unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting among a list of connections that you’ve created.
Application (required, non-editable): A reminder of the application you are connecting to.
Environment (required): Select the environment you are connecting to (Sandbox or Production).
Public key (required): Enter the public key provided by Braintree. Use the following steps to find your public key:
- Log into either the production Control Panel or the sandbox Control Panel, depending on which environment you are working in.
- Click on the gear icon in the top right corner.
- Click API from the drop-down menu.
- Scroll to the API Keys section.
- If no API keys appear, click Generate New API Key.
Private key (required): Enter the private key provided by Braintree. Multiple layers of protection are in place, including AES 256 encryption, to keep your connection’s Private key safe. Use the following steps to find your private key:
- Log into either the production Control Panel or the sandbox Control Panel, depending on which environment you are working in.
- Click the gear icon in the top right corner.
- Click API from the drop-down menu.
- Scroll to the API Keys section.
- Click the View link located in the Private Key column.
- Your private key will be revealed in the Private Key column on the next page.
Caution: You should regularly change your public and private keys for optimal security.
3. Select advanced Braintree settings
Continuing in the Connection dialog, you have the opportunity to provide additional configuration information, if needed, for the Braintree connection.

Borrow concurrency from (optional): Select another connection from the list....
Concurrency level (optional): Up to 25 allowed....
4. Test and save
Important: To enable full integrator.io access to the Braintree API, you must contact Braintree to provide the list of IP addresses to whitelist.
Click the Test or the Save button to attempt to connect to Braintree. You will be alerted of the success or failure by Braintree, via integrator.io.

Click Save to commit these changes and exit the Connection dialog, if you have not already.
The new connection is now successfully added to your account. It will be applied to the current source or destination app, if you created it within a flow. Otherwise, you may proceed to register the connection with an integration.
