Set up a connection to xAI

xAI is an artificial intelligence company focused on building advanced AI systems to understand the universe and accelerate scientific discovery.

Set up a connection

After you start the connection, configure it in the Create connection panel and complete all of the required * authentication settings:

Name your connection * 

Enter a clear and distinguishable name.

Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection. A unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting it from a list of the connections in your account.

API type * 

Choose your xAI account API type:

  • Inference: Run AI models to generate responses, analyze data, and power applications with real-time intelligent outputs.

  • Management: Manage API keys, access, usage, and configuration to control and monitor your xAI integrations.

Inference API type: 

Inference API key * 

Enter your xAI account API key.

Multiple layers of protection are in place, including AES 256 encryption, to keep your connection’s API key safe. When editing this form later, you must enter this password again; it is stored only when the connection is saved and never displayed as text.

How to retrieve the API key

  1. Sign in to your xAI developer console.

  2. Navigate to API keysCreate API key.

  3. Enter a Name.

  4. Select a Restrict access.

  5. Select a Customer rate limits.

  6. Select an Expiry date.

  7. Copy the API key.

How to retrieve the management key

  1. Sign in to your xAI developer console.

  2. Navigate to SettingsManagement keys.

  3. Click Create management key.

  4. Enter a Name.

  5. Select the Endpoint group access levels.

  6. Select the IP address.

  7. Copy the Management key.
