Set up a connection to Navan

Navan is a business travel and expense management platform that helps companies book, manage, and automate travel and expense processes in one place.

The Navan connector is in BETA and may be subject to changes.

Set up a connection

After you start the connection, configure it in the Create connection panel and complete all of the required * authentication settings:

Name your connection * 

Enter a clear and distinguishable name.

Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection. A unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting it from a list of the connections in your account.

API type * 

Choose your Navan account API type: 

  • Booking data and transactions partners: Access booking data such as flights, hotels, and expenses to sync transactions, reconcile records, and power reporting workflows.

  • Trips and users: Retrieve and manage trip details and user profiles to track travel activity and keep user information up to date across systems.

Region * (Only for Booking data and transactions partners API type)

Select your Navan account region (EU or US).

OAuth 2.0 client * 

Select the OAuth 2.0 client that stores the client ID and client secret provided by Navan.

To add an OAuth 2.0 client and configure your credentials, click the plus (+) button. Click the edit (pencil.svg) button to modify a selected OAuth 2.0 client. For more information, see Create an OAuth 2.0 iClient resource.

This connector documentation describes only the settings shown for the Simple view. For the corresponding HTTP settings, see the OAuth 2.0 auth universal connector documentation.

How to retrieve the client ID and client secret

Note

  • To enable the Transaction API, contact the Navan support team.

  • To enable the Expense API, contact the Navan support team to enable the Public API. Additionally, ensure that the account is enabled for Navan Expense services.

  1. Sign in to your Navan admin account.

  2. Navigate to Profile > Admin > Settings > Integrations.

  3. Click Create new.

  4. Enter a Description.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Copy the Client ID.

  7. Copy the Client secret.

  8. Click Done.

Save and authorize

  1. Click Save and authorize to commit your changes and proceed to sign in with Navan.

  2. After signing in, review the permissions for the integration and click Accept.
