Set up a connection to Commercetools

Commercetools is a leading headless commerce platform that empowers businesses to create customized and scalable e-commerce solutions with its flexible API-driven architecture.

Set up a connection

After you start the connection, configure it in the Create connection panel and complete all of the required * authentication settings:

Name your connection * 

Enter a clear and distinguishable name.

Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection. A unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting it from a list of the connections in your account.

Region * 

Select your Commercetools account region.

Project key * 

Enter your Commercetools project key.

How to retrieve the project key 

OAuth 2.0 client * 

Select the OAuth 2.0 client that stores the client ID and client secret provided to you by Commercetools.

To add an OAuth 2.0 client and configure your credentials, click the plus (+) button. Click the edit ( ) button to modify a selected OAuth 2.0 client. For more information, see Create an OAuth 2.0 iClient resource

Grant type * 

Select your OAuth 2.0 grant type (either Client credentials or Password credentials)

Username * 

Enter your Commercetools customer username.

Password * 

Enter your Commercetools customer password.

Multiple layers of protection, including AES 256 encryption, are in place to keep your password safe. When editing this connection, you must re-enter this value each time; it is stored only when the connection is saved and never displayed as text.

How to retrieve the client ID and client secret

  1. Sign in to your Commercetools account.

  2. Navigate to Profile > Manage project.

  3. Click Go to Project > Settings > Developer settings.

  4. Click + Create new API client.

  5. Enter a Name.

  6. Select the Scopes.

  7. Click Create API client.

  8. Copy the Client ID.

  9. Copy the Client secret.

How to retrieve the project key

  1. Sign in to your Commecetools account.

  2. Navigate to Profile > Manage project.

  3. Click + Create new project.

  4. Enter an Organization name.

  5. Enter a Project name.

  6. Copy the Project key.

  7. Click Complete.
