Set up a connection to Basecamp

Basecamp is a web-based project management and collaboration software designed to help teams stay organized, communicate effectively, and manage work efficiently in one place.

Set up a connection

After you start the connection, configure it in the Create connection panel and complete all of the required *authentication settings:

Name your connection *

Enter a clear and distinguishable name.

Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection. A unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting it from a list of the connections in your account.

API type *

Choose your Basecamp API type:

  • V4: Get comprehensive data on projects, tasks, communications, and file updates to streamline collaboration, monitor progress, and boost team productivity.

Account ID *

Enter your Basecamp account ID. For example, if your account URL is https://3.basecamp.com/592696/my/, then 592696 is your account ID.

OAuth 2.0

client *

Select the OAuth 2.0 client that stores the client ID and client secret provided to you by Basecamp.

To add an OAuth 2.0 client and configure your credentials, click the plus (+) button. Click the edit (pencil.svg) button to modify a selected OAuth 2.0 client. For more information, see Create an OAuth 2.0 iClient resource

How to retrieve the client ID and client secret

  1. Sign in to your Basecamp integration account.

  2. Click Register application.

  3. Enter a Name.

  4. Enter a Company name.

  5. Enter a Website URL.

  6. Choose the Products.

  7. Enter Celigo Redirect URL.

  8. Click Register this App.

  9. Copy the Client ID.

  10. Copy the Client secret.
