Set up a connection to Google Analytics

Google Analytics provides tools to understand the customer journey and improve marketing ROI.

Set up a connection

After you start the connection, configure it in the Create connection panel and complete all of the required * authentication settings:

Name your connection * 

Enter a clear and distinguishable name.

Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection. A unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting it from a list of the connections in your account.

API type *

Choose your Google Analytics API type:

  • Universal Analytics (GA3): Access historical Universal Analytics data to retrieve reports, metrics, and dimensions. Use this only for legacy integrations and past data analysis.

  • Analytics Data (GA4): Query event-based analytics data from GA4 properties to analyze user behavior, traffic, and conversions, and build reports and insights on GA4 data.

  • Admin (GA4): Manage GA4 property configurations, including accounts, properties, data streams, and user permissions, for administrative setup and governance.

Scopes * 

Scopes are OAuth 2.0 permissions that Google Analytics defines to limit access to your account.

Analytics Data (GA4) and Admin (GA4) API types:

API version

Select your Google Analytics account API version (v1 Alpha or v1 Beta).

How to configure scopes

  1. Click Scope.

  2. To access all of the scopes in the API, click the » button.

    – or – 

    Check the scopes you want to add and click the > button.

  3. Click Save.

Save and authorize

  1. Click Save and authorize to commit your changes and proceed to sign in with Google Analytics.

  2. After signing in, review the permissions for the integration and click Allow.
