Configure cartonization in NetSuite

Before printing labels with the B2B shipping label printing & cartonization add-on, define how items are packed in the Item Fulfillment record. Pallets and packs are both optional; use the combination that fits your shipment volume.

Container types

  • Pallet + packs: A pallet is the parent container; one or more packs (cartons) are nested under it. Each container gets its own SSCC label.

  • Pallet only: Items are placed directly on a pallet with no individual cartons. The pallet itself carries the label.

  • Pack only: Create one or more packs for a fulfillment without a parent pallet. Each pack is standalone and gets its own SSCC label.

Pallet + packs

  1. Navigate to the Item Fulfillment for your order, and scroll down to the ASN Container subtab.

  2. Click Create Pallet. Select or enter dimensions (L × W × H, weight), and click Save. An SSCC number is auto-generated for you. Continue with Step 5 if the pack is standalone.

  3. From the pallet record, click Create Pack. The parent pallet is pre-filled. Select dimensions, choose items from the fulfillment lines (all or partial quantity), and click Save. A unique SSCC is generated; item weights are summed automatically.

  4. If items span multiple cartons, repeat Step 3. Remaining unpacked quantities stay available for selection.

  5. Click Print Container Labels, and confirm the dialog. All containers are queued and their status is set to Label Requested.

    Tip

You can also print a single container at a time from its ASN Container record, rather than printing all containers on a fulfillment at once.

The label requests in NetSuite are ready for integration with your BarTender Cloud account, which is accomplished by running a flow based on the Marketplace template NetSuite Cartonization and B2B Shipping Labels.

Packs

  1. Navigate to the Item Fulfillment for your order, and scroll down to the ASN Container subtab.

  2. Click Create Pack, leaving the Parent Container field empty (since no pallet is required). Select the dimensions and pack your items. Click Save. A unique SSCC is generated for the pack.

  3. Click Print Container Labels, and confirm the dialog. All containers are queued and their status is set to Label Requested.
