Error on Item Export

Error Message: 'a) Cannot export matrix parent / child pair if child item's attribute set is blank b) Cannot export child/parent matrix pair to Magento--attribute set on the parent item must match the attribute set on the child item c) Attribute set field cannot be blank for product creation.'

Reason: The pre-requiste for Items is to have the Attribute set populated for export flow, and both the parent and child items should have the same Attribute sets.

Resolution:

Set the Attribute values and then export.
