The Magento Category to NetSuite Add/Update flow in the General section allows you to import categories with its hierarchy from Magento 2 to NetSuite. When you run this flow, the Integration App picks the following information highlighted in the screenshot from your Magento 2 account:
This information from Magento is then transferred to NetSuite in the Celigo Magento 2 Product Category List custom record as demonstrated in the following image:
You can also use the following two settings in Advanced Settings to configure how the categories and its hierarchy information is displayed in NetSuite:
- Add Magento 2 Categories in NetSuite as
Let’s you select the way categories information is displayed in the NetSuite custom record. For example, the following information demonstrates how the Men’s -> Shoes -> Sport Shoes category information is displayed in NetSuite when you select:
Level 1: Level 2: Level n - Men’s: Shoes: Sport Shoes
Level n: Level 2: Level 1 - Sport Shoes: Shoes: Men’s
Level n (Level1: Level n-1) - Sport Shoes (Men’s: Shoes)
Note: Once you change and save the drop-down value and run the flow again, the display of categories information in NetSuite is accordingly updated as per your selection. - Exclude default category from category name in NetSuite
Let’s you exclude Default Category when you import categories from Magento 2 to NetSuite. When this check box is enabled, for example, Men's -> Shoes -> Sport Shoes will be represented as Men's: Shoes: Casual Shoes otherwise as Default Category: Mens: Shoes: Casual Shoes.
Item export with categories
In addition to importing categories from Magento 2 to NetSuite, you can also use this feature to assign categories with its hierarchy to the items being imported into Magento 2 from NetSuite when you run the NetSuite Item to Magento Product Add/Update and NetSuite Matrix Item to Magento Configurable Product Add/Update flow in the Product section. The following screen demonstrates the field mapping in the item export flows used to control the category import for an item from NetSuite to Magento 2:
The Magento 2 Categories field under the eTail tab for an item record stores the category specific information. The following screen demonstrates the same:
In the above screen, you can see the categories assigned to an item green_tea. Once you run the item import flow, along with other information in the inventory item record for green_tea, the category information is also imported into Magento 2 as follows:
Note:
- The item export flow does not delete any existing values from the corresponding item in Magento 2 if no category assignment for an item is done by you in NetSuite.
- The Integration App replaces the category information for an item in Magento 2 with the information in NetSuite, if the item record in NetSuite has categories values assigned to it.
