Q: I want to run some test orders through the Shopify Integration App. How do I handle the credit card data? Should I use real data or fictitious data, or something else?
A: There are a few ways to do this, but your Shopify Administrator would be the best person to ask for the most optimal way.
Typically, you would go into the Shopify Admin Panel under Settings > Payments > Change Providers and set your account to the 'Bogus Gateway'. This will allow you to enter a '1' in the webstore credit card form and all other fake data for the expiry and CVS number. However, this is ONLY if your account is NOT live. If you're actively getting orders, this is NOT the path forward. If your account is live and getting orders, the preferred method would be to enter the order through the Admin Panel and mark the orders as 'Paid Manually'.
