Assign a custom layout to a Salesforce object

The Celigo NetSuite Package creates custom layouts not native to Salesforce. A custom layout holds custom fields with values. To view a custom layout on your Salesforce records, you need to assign a layout to a Salesforce object. The Integration App creates the following custom layouts:

  • Celigo Layout - holds custom fields and values created by the Integration App
  • Celigo Opportunity Contract Layout - holds custom fields and values created by the Contract Renewals Add-on

To set a custom layout on a Salesforce tab, you need to:

  • Assign a page layout to a role/profile/user
  • Set the Field-Level Security for a role/profile/user

Assign a layout to a role

You can change a layout assigned layout via the Profile Detail page. To Assign a layout to a specific role/profile/user:

  1. Login to your Salesforce account, and from the top-right of your Home page, click Setup.
  2. From the Administer menu to the left, click Manage Users.
  3. Click Profiles.
  4. Click on the Profile name to view the layouts assigned to a role/profile/user.
  5. You’ll see the listing of Page Layouts for Standard and Custom Objects on your Salesforce app.
  6. Click on [View Assignment] link under a Standard Object to which you want to assign the custom layout.
  7. Click on Edit Assignment and select the profiles or roles for which you want to add the custom page layout.
  8. You can select multiple roles at the same time by choosing various roles using Ctrl + click on a Windows keyboard (or Command + click on a Mac keyboard.)
  9. Select the custom layout from the list of page layouts available in the “Page Layout To Use:” dropdown menu.
  10. Click Save.

  • These instructions are for the Salesforce Classic interface, not the Salesforce Lightning experience. I would prefer to request that you create them for Lightning instead, but if that is not an option, please specify that they are intended for Classic, so that other people don't waste as much time as I did trying to figure them out.
