A. Set up an Intercom connection
Start establishing a connection to Intercom in either of the following ways:
- From the Resources menu, select Connections. Then, click + Create connection at the top right.
– or – - While working in a new or existing integration, you can add an application to a flow simply by clicking Add source or Add destination/lookup.
In the resulting Application list, select Intercom.

The Create connection pane opens with required and advanced settings.
B. Describe the Intercom connection and provide iClient credentials
Edit the General settings specific to this connection resource.

Name (required): Provide a clear and distinguishable name. Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection, and a unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting among a list of connections that you’ve created.
Application (required, non-editable): A reminder of the app you’re editing.
Select or create your iClient in the Application details section.

Callback URL (read-only): Copy this integrator.io callback URL to provide directions to Intercom for where to go after authentication. (This URL should be whitelisted with the authorization server.)
iClient (required): Select the iClient pair that stores the client ID and client secret provided to you by Intercom. To add an iClient and configure your credentials, click the plus (+) button. Click the edit ( ) button to modify a selected iClient. Be sure to give the iClient a recognizable name for use in any other connections.
- Sign in to your Intercom account, navigate to the Developer Hub, and click Your apps in the upper right corner of the page.
- Open the app you are integrating. Your Client ID and Client secret are displayed on the Basic information page.

- Click Authentication on the left navigation menu.

- Check the Use OAuth checkbox and click + Add redirect URL.
- Enter the following: https://integrator.io/connection/oauth2callback
- Click Save.
Use the following steps to create a new Intercom app to integrate with integrator.io.
- Sign in to your Intercom account and navigate to the App store.

- Click Build your own app.

- Click Your apps in the upper right corner of the page.
- Click New app.

- Enter a name for the app, verify that Internal integration radio button is selected, and click Create app.

- From the Authentication page, click Edit in the upper right corner.
- Check the Use OAuth checkbox and click + Add redirect URL.
- Enter the following: https://integrator.io/connection/oauth2callback

- Click Save.
C. Edit advanced Intercom settings
The Advanced section provides you with additional configuration options if needed.

Borrow concurrency from (optional): Select another connection from the list....
Concurrency level (optional): Up to 25 allowed....
Once you have selected an existing iClient (or created a new iClient providing your client id and client secret), click Save & Authorize.
D. Authorize access
At this point, Intercom prompts you to grant access to the following resources:

Click Authorize access.
The new connection is now successfully added to your account. It will be applied to the current source or destination app, if you created it within a flow. Otherwise, you may proceed to register the connection with an integration.
