When you run the "Shopify Order to NetSuite Order" flow, the integration app provides you the below options to manage your order shipping cost and its shipping tax rate:
- Bring order shipping in NetSuite native fields (body-level)
- Map all your order shipping against the NetSuite order at the line item level
Bring order shipping in NetSuite native fields (body-level)
This option is a leading practice to handle order shipping costs and its shipping tax rate. If you want to bring your order shipping in NetSuite native fields (body-level), do not select the NetSuite item in the "NetSuite item to track Shopify shipping cost as a line item" setting (Order > Configure Order > Order).
Using this option, the order flow overwrites the shipping cost and shipping tax rates with the value from Shopify. This ensures that no variance is calculated due to the difference in the value of shipping cost and shipping tax.
Map all your order shipping against a single item in NetSuite (line-level)
If you want to bring the shipping costs at line-level, then select a NetSuite item in the "NetSuite item to track Shopify shipping cost as a line item" setting (Order > Configure Order > Order). When you bring the order shipping values at the line-level, the shipping cost at the body-level is shown as 0 and the shipping tax rate is marked as "non-taxable."
In this approach, the integration app displays the total shipping cost and the shipping tax rate against the selected NetSuite item.
- The NetSuite item you select in the "NetSuite item to track Shopify shipping cost as a line item" setting must be a non-inventory item.
- You can also choose different options for different channels.
Example: Option #1 for your eCommerce platform (Shopify, Magento 2, BigCommerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud) and Option #2 for all Marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Walmart).
