Set up an OAuth 2.0 connection to NetSuite

NetSuite is Oracle's cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite. It handles financials, inventory, order management, CRM, and e-commerce. The NetSuite connector lets you sync records such as customers, items, and sales orders between NetSuite and your other apps, using exports, imports, lookups, and real-time listeners in integrator.io. Before you create the connection, review Before you connect to NetSuite.

OAuth 2.0 is an additional authentication option for NetSuite connections. With OAuth 2.0, you sign in to NetSuite and choose a role to authorize the connection, and integrator.io handles the certificates for you. OAuth 2.0 doesn’t support file operations yet. If your flows work with files, use token-based authentication, either automatic or manual. If you're installing an integration app or adding a connection to one, set up your NetSuite connection by following the integration app's instructions.

Note: Your existing token-based connections continue to work as they do today. You don't need to change or reauthorize them, and there's no requirement to move to OAuth 2.0.

A. Set up a NetSuite connection

Start a connection to NetSuite in either of the following ways:

  • From the Resources menu, select Connections. Then, click + Create connection at the top right.

– or –

  • In Flow builder, when you create a flow step or add a step to an existing flow, click the plus sign (+) next to the Connection settings.

The Create connection pane opens with required and advanced settings. In the Application list, select NetSuite.

B. Describe your NetSuite connection

First, name your connection in the General settings:

Name (required): Enter a clear, distinct name. You'll choose this connection in integrator.io imports and exports, and a unique name makes it easier to find in a list of connections.

Application (required, non-editable): Shows the app you're editing.

C. Provide required NetSuite account information

Next, choose how to authenticate to NetSuite.

Authentication type (required): Select OAuth 2.0. This option is selected by default for new connections.

Note: Before you select OAuth 2.0 in integrator.io, complete these steps in NetSuite:

  • Enable the OAuth 2.0 feature. Go to Setup > Company > Enable Features > SuiteCloud and check the OAuth 2.0 box.
  • Enable the REST Web Services feature on the same page.

Account ID (required): Enter your NetSuite account ID. If you can't find your account ID, contact NetSuite support. For more information, see NetSuite account ID.

Note: Use an underscore (_) instead of a dash (-) in your account ID. For example, 12345_SB1.

D. Edit advanced NetSuite settings

Before you continue, you can add more configuration for the NetSuite connection if needed.

Optional concurrency and rate limit settings

Borrow concurrency from (optional): Select another connection from the list. By default, integrator.io sends all data in a connection to the endpoint app at that connection's own concurrency level. Sometimes several connections need to share one concurrency level. This setting lets you choose the connection to borrow from. When you borrow concurrency, integrator.io sends data from both connections to the endpoint app together, using a shared concurrency model.

Auto-recover rate limit errors: This setting is on by default, with a predefined value for Target concurrency level. You can turn it off if needed. To change any of these settings, you need admin or manage permissions.

Target concurrency level: This setting appears only when Auto-recover rate limit errors is checked. Change the predefined value to limit how many concurrent API requests the connection allows. See also Set concurrency level on a connection.

Concurrency level: When Auto-recover rate limit errors is checked, you can't change the concurrency level, because it matches the value set by the connected platform's runtime. When the box isn't checked, you can enter a value to limit how many concurrent API requests the connection allows. See also Set concurrency level on a connection.

E. Save and authorize the connection

When you've configured the NetSuite connection, click Save and authorize. The NetSuite sign-in window opens. Sign in with the user and role you want the integration to run as, then approve access. After NetSuite authorizes your sign-in, it adds the connection to your account with Online status.

Tip: To change the run-as user or role, click Save and authorize again and sign in with a different user or role.

Reconnect after a sandbox refresh

Refreshing a NetSuite sandbox clears the NetSuite-side setup for this connection, and the connection shows Reconnect required. To fix this, open the connection and click Save and authorize. You don't have to enter anything again. Production connections aren't affected.

Troubleshoot OAuth 2.0 connection errors

Connection state or message What to do
Reconnect required Your NetSuite authorization was cleared, often by a sandbox refresh. Click Save and authorize.
Setup incomplete Your NetSuite account requires new integrations to be approved. Ask a NetSuite administrator to approve the Celigo integration record.
OAuth 2.0 feature not enabled In NetSuite, go to Setup > Company > Enable Features > SuiteCloud and enable OAuth 2.0.
REST Web Services feature disabled Enable REST Web Services on the same NetSuite page.
Role not eligible for OAuth 2.0 Sign in with a role that has the Log in using OAuth 2.0 Access Tokens and REST Web Services permissions.
