A Value-Added Network (VAN) is a secure service that facilitates electronic data interchange (EDI) between organizations. Celigo uses VAN service through ECGrid, which can be configured in integrator.io for inbound and outbound EDI flows. A one-time configuration is required to connect the integrator.io account to ECGrid. Once connected, use ECGrid to connect with trading partners such as other VANs, service providers, and e-commerce gateways.
Note
- You can configure only one VAN connection per environment. If you try to create and save more than one VAN connection in an environment, an error message is displayed.
- If you don't have a B2B Manager subscription, you must first send a request to connect to VAN.
Request access to the VAN connector
- Sign in to your integrator.io account.
-
On the Home page,
- Click Create > Connection. OR
- From the left menu, click Connections, and click + Create connection at the top right.
- In the Application field, enter VAN.
- From the Universal connectors list, select VAN (Value-added Network).
-
By default, all fields are disabled on the Create connection page if you don't have a B2B Manager subscription. To create a connection to the VAN connector, click Request access.
-
On the Request access to VAN connector pane, click Submit request. The Celigo team will receive an email to initiate the request.
Once your request is validated, you can set up your VAN connection.
After your request is validated, you can create a VAN connection.
- In the upper right of the page, select the environment you want to create the VAN connection if you have a non-production or sandbox environment.
- From the left menu, navigate to Resources > Connections. Then, click + Create connection at the top right.
-
In the Application field, enter VAN; in the resulting application list, select VAN (Value-added network).
-
The Create connection pane opens with the required settings.
-
General:
- Name your connection (required): Provide a clear and distinguishable name. Throughout integrator.io imports and exports, you will have the option to choose this new connection, and a unique identifier will prove helpful later when selecting among a list of connections that you’ve created.
- Application (required, non-editable): A reminder of the app you’re editing.
-
Configure routing for shared connections:
- Routing rules editor: Define the rules that integrator.io will use to send messages from your trading partners to the right flow. Script-based routing rules determine the way inbound files received are sent to the correct flows. Click Launch. For more information, refer to the Understand the content-based routing (CBR) rules section in Understand content-based routing for AS2 connections.
-
Once you have configured the connection, you have a few options for continuing:
- Save: Click to test the connection, and commit the new connection so that it will be available to all integrations for your account
- Save & close: Click to test and save the connection and exit the Create connection pane
- Close: Click to exit the window
Important
Complete your VAN setup on ECGrid: After you create a VAN connection, Celigo creates a corresponding ECGrid account (VAN service portal). If you're the account owner, you will receive an email notification to complete the VAN setup on ECGrid. The account owner must check for an email from Celigo in their inbox. The mail provides guidance to log in to their new ECGrid account and configure it to complete the VAN setup. Learn more about your ECGrid account and configuration
This is an optional step if you wish to delete your connection. Before adding another VAN connection, you must remove the existing VAN connection, which requires deleting the import, export, and flows that reference the VAN connection.
In the future, if you wish to delete your existing VAN connection:
- Sign in to your integrator.io account.
- If you have
- From the left menu, go to Resources > Connections.
- On the Connections page, search for the VAN connection.
- In the Actions column, click
to expand.
- From the options, select Delete connection.
Note
After you delete the existing VAN connection, you can create another VAN connection.
