Update your on-premise agent

Note

Required: You must update your on-premise agent to version 5.7.1. Agents not updated may lose connectivity to the Celigo platform.

To keep your integrations running, download and install the latest on-premise agent from integrator.io. This article walks you through the full update process, including how to verify the update and what to do if you have multiple agents. The update takes 10–15 minutes and requires administrator access on the machine where your agent is installed.

Before you start

  • Time required: 10–15 minutes

  • Who should do this: The person with access to the machine where the agent is installed — typically an IT administrator

  • What you’ll need: Login credentials for your Celigo account and administrator access on the agent host machine

Update your on-premise agent

Step 1: Check your current agent version

  1. Sign in to integrator.io.

  2. Go to Resources > On-premise agents.

  3. Find your agent in the list and note the version number.

If your agent is already on v5.7.1, no action is needed.

Step 2: Copy your agent access token

  1. In Resources > On-premise agents, select Show token next to your agent.

  2. Select the copy icon next to the token to copy it to your clipboard.

  3. Save this token somewhere safe — you will need it after the install.

Step 3: Download the latest agent installer

  1. In Resources > On-premise agents, from the Install column, select Download and choose your operating system (Windows or Linux).

  2. Save the installer file to the machine where your agent is running.

If your agent runs on a different machine than the one you’re using, transfer the installer to that machine before continuing.

Step 4: Install the update

  1. On the machine running your agent, run the downloaded installer.

  2. Follow the installation prompts.

  3. If prompted for your agent access token, enter the token you saved in Step 2.

  4. Wait for the installation to complete.

Step 5: Verify the update

  1. Go to Resources > On-premise agents in integrator.io.

  2. Refresh the page.

  3. Confirm your agent version shows v5.7.1.

  4. Confirm the agent status shows as Online.

Your integrations will resume automatically. No changes to your flows, connections, or configurations are needed.

If you have multiple agents

If your account has more than one on-premise agent, update them one at a time:

  1. Update the first agent following the steps above.

  2. Wait a few minutes and confirm it is online and showing v5.7.1.

  3. Proceed to update the next agent.

Do not update all agents simultaneously.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

For more in-depth questions, create a support ticket.

How are you pushing this upgrade when the on-premise agent runs behind our firewall? Does Celigo have a backdoor to my system?

Celigo has no way to access your system. This update is possible because active agents look for the latest agent in a GitHub repository. Once the latest agent software is placed in the repository, the active agent picks up the latest update.

Will my integrations stop running during the update?

Your integrations will pause briefly while the agent restarts after the install (approximately 10–30 seconds). Queued work is preserved and resumes automatically once the agent is back online.

Will this affect my agent’s configuration or connections?

No. All your agent settings, registered connections, and tokens are preserved during the update. Only the agent runtime is updated.

Do I need to uninstall the old agent first?

No. The installer updates your existing agent installation in place. You do not need to uninstall the old version first.

What if the installation fails?

If the installer does not complete successfully:

  1. Contact Celigo support at support@celigo.com or the priority contact provided in the update notification.

  2. Be prepared to provide your agent name, the error message (if any), and your operating system version.

  3. Celigo support will assist you with recovery, including providing the previous agent version if needed.

Do not attempt to uninstall or reinstall without guidance from Celigo support.

What version should my agent be on after the update?

v5.7.1 — this is the current stable release.

How do I check my operating system version?

  • Windows: Press Win + R, type winver, and press Enter.

  • Linux: Open a terminal and run lsb_release -a or cat /etc/os-release.

Can I schedule the update for a specific time?

Yes. Since you are performing the update manually, you can choose when to run the installer. Schedule it during a low-traffic window for your integrations — the downtime is minimal (approximately 10–30 seconds).

Can I opt out of this update?

This is a required update for security and platform compatibility. If you have a specific concern that prevents you from updating, contact your Customer Success Manager or Celigo support to discuss.

I’m on Linux — is the process the same?

Yes. The update process is the same for both Windows and Linux. Download the installer for your operating system from Resources > On-premise agents and follow the same steps above.
